Jevo helps you track your money. That's personal, so here is, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Jevo is operated by Michael Griffey ("Jevo", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@jevoapp.com.
What we collect
Account details
Your email address and a password (or the one-time link we email you). Passwords are stored securely hashed, never in plain text.
Money information you enter or scan
- Expenses and income: amounts, dates, merchants, categories and notes.
- Budget profiles, recurring items, income sources and your budget settings.
- Receipt photos you scan, and the text read from them.
Household information (optional)
If you link with a partner: a display name, your share of household income, shared bills and expenses you mark as shared, and invite codes. Your partner can see what you share with them. They can't see your personal expenses.
Subscription information
Subscriptions are bought through Apple. We receive confirmation of your plan, its dates and a transaction identifier, so the app (and, in future, our website) knows you're subscribed. We never see your payment card or Apple ID details.
What we don't collect
We don't use advertising or analytics trackers in the app, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't collect your contacts, location or photo library. Face ID happens entirely on your device. We never receive your face data.
How we use it
- To run Jevo: sign you in, store and show your information, and sync it across your devices.
- To read your receipts: the text recognised from a receipt is sent for processing so the store, date, total and category can be filled in for you.
- To manage your subscription and keep Jevo secure and working.
- To reply when you contact us.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, only to run Jevo:
- Supabase: sign-in, our database, receipt photo storage and server functions. Your data is stored in Canada.
- Anthropic: its Claude AI reads the text recognised from a receipt and returns the structured details. Only the receipt text is sent, not your photo, name or email. Anthropic processes it in the United States under its privacy policy.
- Apple: App Store purchases and subscriptions, and on-device text and face recognition (which stay on your device).
- Cloudflare: hosting and delivering this website.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Where it's stored and for how long
Your data stays in your account until you delete it or your account. Receipt photos are kept in a private store that only your account can read. Because our providers are in Canada and the United States, your data may be processed outside the country you live in.
Your choices
- Edit or delete any entry in the app.
- Delete your account and all its data. See how. Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, by emailing hello@jevoapp.com.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy laws, such as access, correction, deletion, portability and objection. Contact us and we'll help.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and each account can read only its own information. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and turn on the Face ID lock.
Children
Jevo isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
